Ultimate chicken horse kickstarter4/19/2023 ![]() Along with support on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. Due to deliver the depth of a colony management sim rarely seen among the stars. Such as RimWorld, Factorio, Dwarf Fortress, Oxygen Not Included, and FTL. Stardeus takes inspiration from titles from other well known games. Due to launch its Kickstarter campaign on Monday, August 16th. Solo developer, Kodo Linija, is eager to announce the sci-fi colony sim Stardeus. With plans for a Steam and Humble Store release. Due to kick off the crowdfunding campaign soon. Thanks to the creative efforts of developer Kodo Linija. You could keep enemy 'monsters' to a simple theme that fits into the map.Stardeus sci-fi colony sim game coming to Kickstarter on Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. No idea if you want to implement the ability to kill creatures by jumping on them (ala mario), but it would make for a more expansive content. Is it possible to implement enemy creatures into the game, and give them simple ai patterns?įor instance 'goomba' creatures that a player can plop onto the map, and when the map starts, they can fall on a platform and navigate, and even kill a animal if it touches them. This would mean the map has to be narrow, but tall, so it's horizontal camera is locked to the map while the vertical camera scrolls up by itself. "Ice climber" sort of map could work if players are able to drop down blocks each turn, while a death zone rises (represented by the bottom of the screen). Same goes for low gravity 'space' maps, you have to be careful not to jump too high near the top of the screen, probably a natural hazard like flying out of the moon's gravity and dying in space. Mainly Mario Water level themed or low gravity sort of theme built into the map.īy that I mean tapping the jump button to float up faster, but sinking moves slowly, meaning a underwater map full of hazard can be tricky to navigate. Underwater and Space levels would be fun. Using the UCH assets helps visualize how it would look in game, and it's alot of fun to work with aswell. Perhaps a vertical sinking Titanic? But then were would that nice helicopter goal point fit in? Hah. but if so the setting would have to be something other than a canyon. It could possibly be visualized by rising water. Then again I guess that's usually not really a problem in maps like Iceberg. That would eliminate the problem of the camera zooming out too far if somebody falls too far down. Most of them look more or less the same now as in the kickstarter video, except for some distance changes.Ībout the canyon, I thought that the camera and bottom of the level (deathpoint) could rise as you climb, and if you fall down below that You would die. It would be interesting to see if you have any scrapped maps or early early versions of such a level, or any of the current maps. That was just the exterior of a classic volcano though. I just rewatched that video a couple of days ago actually. Every platformer needs one, right? I guess that might be where I got the idea. Oh yeah, I bet you've thought of a volcano/lava level. The area occupied by the lava balls flying up and down could be out of bounds for placing items, thus always leaving a gap and making a jump necessary, but even without that I think something like this would be great fun! Kind of the opposite of Iceberg Long horizontal map in a Volcano with lava and flying balls of liquid hot magma! It could (along with the crate) sway a little back and forth, and the blades could act as a trap so players need to be careful when jumping onto the crate so they don't get sliced up and flung away. I also think the helicopter would be a fun ending point. Similar to Windmill, but not only is it alot taller, it's also got straight walls all the way up, whereas Windmill has the broken silo and the water tank (or whatever that thing on the left is), which starts a bit higher up. Tall Vertical Canyon Map with the goal flag on a crate beneath a helicopter. Share your ideas for UCH maps! Images encouraged! ) ![]()
